Housing & Amenities
All of our students live in residential accommodation on campus provided by the University. Being a campus environment, everything is conveniently located – close by is the academic center of KAUST, social facilities such as the cinema and Discovery Square which hosts events and screenings of sports events, and essentials such as grocery and retail stores, a pharmacy and the health center.
Restaurants & Coffee Shops
Students can find a taste of home – or indeed somewhere else – at the wide array of popular food and drink outlets on campus. Whether its a sandwich from Subway, a burger from Burger King, a pizza from Domino’s, a coffee from Starbucks, fine dining, or international cuisine, they can indulge in their favorite foods right on campus.
Recreation & Sports Facilities
The University is a great place for all people of all abilities to get involved in sports, get fit and have fun. We have a golf club, dive center, yacht club, and three sports centers which between them offer access to indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a running track, gyms equipped with modern fitness and weightlifting equipment, tennis and squash courts, a climbing wall, ten-pin bowling, a cycling studio and fitness classes. There is something for everyone.
Community Clubs
Community Clubs at KAUST, driven by community members, cater to a variety of interests, providing opportunities to explore hobbies, learn new skills, and connect with like-minded individuals. Ranging from art-focused groups that enable creative expression and skill development, to Boardgaming clubs fostering strategic thinking and light-hearted competition, these clubs offer a welcoming environment for people to engage in their preferred activities, thereby enriching the communal experience.
Travel
Situated on the Red Sea coast, KAUST offers diving and regular snorkeling, fishing, and sailing activities, ideal for exploring vibrant reefs. Free buses are available to transport you to Jeddah, a bustling city with renowned hotels, events like the Red Sea International Film Festival, and the historic Al-Balad district. For those seeking more adventure, car rental services and a travel agency are on-campus to facilitate trips to places such as Riyadh, Al-Ula, and the Al-Baha forests.
